"St. Catherine’s Church is an absolutely stunning venue, and experiencing a piano concert here was truly unforgettable. The historic brick architecture, soaring ceilings, and warm candlelight created an intimate yet majestic atmosphere that instantly transported us out of the everyday world. The acoustics inside the church are excellent—rich, clear, and perfectly suited for a solo piano performance. Listening to Chopin’s music surrounded by hundreds of candles felt deeply moving and almost magical. Every note resonated beautifully through the space, making the performance feel both powerful and personal. The organisation was smooth, the setting was serene, and the overall ambiance made this far more than just a concert—it was an experience. Whether you’re a classical music lover or simply looking for something special to do in Gdańsk, this is an evening I would highly recommend. I left feeling calm, inspired, and very grateful to have been there 🎶🕯️"

"I arrived in Gdansk at the rail/bus stations, started to walk towards the Old Town - and this was the first interesting building I came across. It turns out it's the oldest church in Gdansk, dating back to the 1200s. It is very attractive from outside - but the interior is not up to much."

"Stepping inside St. Catherine’s Church reveals one of Gdańsk’s most atmospheric Gothic interiors, where light, silence and centuries of history blend naturally. The central nave is impressive in scale, with its high vaulted ceiling and warm brick walls that highlight the church’s medieval character. Several details stand out immediately: the richly decorated main altarpiece, the finely carved wooden confessional and the sculpted panels showing saints in delicate gold accents. Side chapels offer a more intimate atmosphere, including the one dedicated to St. Catherine herself, framed by a beautifully restored neo-Gothic altar. Throughout the church, artworks and historical elements are displayed with care, from large canvas paintings undergoing restoration to smaller devotional corners that add to the overall charm. Despite ongoing maintenance in some areas, the visit remains fully enjoyable and gives a clear sense of the building’s cultural and spiritual importance within the Old Town. A peaceful stop, ideal for anyone interested in architecture, heritage and sacred art."

"Visited the church to attend Chopin’s concert, I was impressed and would recommend anyone to have this experience. It is one hour recital and a pianist performs Chopins most famous pieces, before playing them, he gave a good explanation what he was going to perform for us. I loved it"
