"The museum offers an excellent and engaging exhibition that makes great use of different media and interactive elements. Visitors are guided through the experience with an audio guide that automatically activates depending on their location within the exhibition, which makes exploring very convenient and immersive. What stood out most was the combination of multimedia exhibit pieces and personal stories. This made the experience much more emotional and impactful than in many other museums. We did not have to wait in line to enter. One thing to keep in mind is that the lockers require coins, which unfortunately we did not have with us. The only drawback during our visit was that a school group was touring the exhibition at the same time. A guide was speaking through a microphone to around 20 students, which made the exhibition area feel crowded and drowned out our own audio guide. We simply waited for the group to move on and continued at a slower pace afterward. Overall, this is a very well-designed and memorable museum experience that combines technology, history, and personal stories in an impressive artistic way."

"Being of a certain age, I remember the Gdansk shipyard strike and it was fascinating to revisit those events in this museum. We had a very interesting tour. Take the audio guides, they are free and definitely will add to any visit. We left feeling really positive about the world, about the spirit of Solidarity."

"What a fabulous museum! I knew very little about Poland’s history so this deep dive into their struggle for freedom from Russia (starting in the Gdansk shipyards) was fascinating. The staging, exhibits and audio visual sets are brilliant and very well supported by the audio headphone tour which really brought it to life. Loads of photos and videos from the Solidarity movement really helped to tell the tale. The longer audio visual story is circa 2:5 hours so allow enough time for your visit. There is a cafe/bistro on site, plus a coat store and lockers for your bags if required."

"This was the unexpected highlight of our short trip to Gdansk and I'd urge you not to overlook it. The entire experience was stand out. It's inexpensive, accessible and beautifully laid out and reminded us of one of the most important times in modern history. The displays were great and interactive and the audio guide, which was included, was informative and lead us around beautifully. There is so much detail about the key figures and events, that is be astonished if you didn't find it both educational and emotional. Please take time to visit. Easy to spend half a day, if not more."
