"St. Mary’s Church 💒 (Bazylika Mariacka) is one of the attractions that is most worth your time. Considered one of the largest brick 🧱Gothic churches in the world and one of the symbols of Gdańsk. 🕰️ The medieval astronomical clock from the 15th century, one of the most interesting sights inside. Superb panorama of the old center 🌃 after climbing the tower - the view justifies the effort. The tower has 409 steps 👣 and part of the climb is done on narrow and steep stairs. ❣️ It is not ideal for people with claustrophobia or reduced mobility ♿️Recommendations - Try to be there around noon to see the astronomical clock animation and climb the tower if the weather is good. 🎟️Entrance to the church is generally free. The tower is visited starting at 10 am and has a small fee. Visited in June 2026"

"Breathtaking views, totally worth the climb! Beautiful church! It costs 20 złoty for adults and 10 złoty for kids. Climbing the 400+ steps is a bit of a workout, and the pathways up and down are quite narrow, but it’s 100% worth it. Once you’re at the top, you get a stunning panoramic view of the whole city of Danzig. Highly recommended!"

"This morning, corpus christi. we visited the Saint Mary's church. At first glance, it seemed deluded perhaps because of the size of the church, it's white walls and spaced religious artifacts. Well, I decided to investigate further and I found out interesting religions monuments and its meaning 😅. The Saint Mary's church is worthwhile to visit. As you enter, you will see steal circular monument standing at the beginning of the central row leading to the priest pulpit. Take the time to look the impressive stain glass located above the pulpit ( see picture) and the design of the wallpaper above it. At the opposite, you will also see the impressive music organ ( see picture). You can buy a ticket to go up the tower to see an amazing view of Gadanks ! I highly recommend that you visit the Saint Mary's church. GOD BLESS."

"Visiting St. Mary’s Church in Gdańsk was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I approached the basilica, I was struck by its massive size and the grandeur of its Gothic architecture. Stepping inside, the sheer scale of the interior is overwhelming—in the best way. The vaulted ceilings stretch high above, and the detailed craftsmanship of every altar, pulpit, and sculpture is truly astonishing. The stained-glass windows fill the space with a soft, colorful light, giving the church a serene and almost ethereal atmosphere. Walking through, I felt a strong sense of history—this place has witnessed centuries of life, events, and devotion, and you can feel that weight and beauty in every corner. One of the highlights for me was exploring the intricately carved wooden altars and the astronomical clock, both of which are masterpieces of art and engineering. Even if you aren’t particularly religious, the artistry and history alone make it a must-see. The quietness inside contrasts sharply with the bustling city outside, offering a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the skill and dedication that went into building this incredible structure. I spent hours just wandering, observing details, and taking in the atmosphere. Overall, St. Mary’s Church is not just a place of worship—it’s a cultural and historical treasure. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gdańsk, whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or simply looking for a place to experience awe and inspiration. I left feeling both humbled and deeply impressed."
